What, no midnight snack?
Nora slept through the night, and is down again for her morning nap. I’m not quite sure what to do with myself, except perhaps neglect the older two in favor of a little internet surfing.
Some of my finds:
An interesting video that not only features one of my favorite preachers alive, but also makes a point that I have claimed as truth for quite a long time.
A solid 10 on the weirdness scale: I discovered that my friend Steve and his wife Rebeccah recently had their second daughter and named her… Nora Jane. No joke. Our Nora came first, but not by much.
I have been working hard to convince all my friends here in WW to come down with us to my parents’ house in Mexico, but between hesitant worry-warts and no passports, I’m not getting many takers. Maybe a little show and tell will help nudge them into a trial visit: the old website my sister set up to rent out the house and our last visit to the house before Nora came. How can anyone resist?!
My best pal Kristen is scheduled to come for a visit from Kansas City on March 8, which is not only International Women’s Day, but also the 6th anniversary of our last day spent together in Rome during our (in)famous Italy blitz. I have a wonderful photo of Kristen being handed a makeshift yellow mimosa (a potted shrub from the apartment building lobby) by my Italian friend in honor of IWD. I haven’t seen Kristen since the summer of 2007. She hasn’t seen her goddaughter in nearly 3 years, much less the two later additions to the V family. Tsk, tsk. We aim to remedy that, and also to take her to Mexico during her visit. It’s a shame I have to import visitors to the Mexico house from out of state.
And finally, to close out my precious 20 minutes of internet time (without paying bills or adding play dates to the calendar), I took a moment to hold onto my lead in Scrabble against Eric’s Aunt Lori. Unfortunately, the match is being played on Facebook, otherwise I’d let you all in on a knock down drag out match that is shaping up to be another close game. I’ve beat her twice so far, but barely and with mostly luck. Lori is the only person I know who can beat me consistently in Scrabble.
In case you missed it…

The recently posted photo gallery from our family trip to the Walk for Life West Coast. A weekend of enjoying my mom’s family in the Bay Area, standing for life together in San Francisco on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, and a gorgeous drive back down the 101. Eric and I have big plans for that highway on our 5th wedding anniversary…

And then, more snow pictures from our latest 2.5 feet (that was dumped on our house during the trip up north). Ignore the lovely shadow corners on most of the photos… I thought our LCD screen was going, but it was actually the lens cover that wouldn’t open all the way.

Finally, photos of the girls coloring and hamming it up. Cabin fever makes you do crazy things with your face.
