Shipping Out
The Versluys family is scattering across the country tomorrow. Eric heads to Chicago early Sunday morning, while Roma and I hop on a plane for a lovely 2-hour non-stop flight to Ontario, California.
Eric is going to spend two weeks working with his Marine Corps unit somewhere in Michigan, and then he will return home on June 30.
Meanwhile, the Roma girl and I are staying at Nonna and G-Dad’s house next week until we head to Bakersfield for the next Otten wedding (Eric’s cousin Doug is marrying a sweet girl named Megan) on Friday. From there, we travel to Ventura for the annual Otten girls’ beach trip – Roma and I are now included in the fun!
Wednesday the 27th marks the beginning of Survivors Camp, and I will leave Roma with her Oma at the beach while I head down to Long Beach to help lead Survivors. Roma will rejoin me on Saturday, and spend the rest of camp as my sidekick. We’re returning to Denver on Friday July 6 – nearly 3 weeks after our departure!
Eric is going to be home a week earlier, so I’m expecting ALL the household to-do items to be completed by the time I return. That in addition to working 40 hours and goofing around with friends because the wife is out of town.
I hope to post at some point during our trip, but if not, adieu until further notice.
Oh, and all family members who I may not see during this trip out – we are almost 100% certain that we will be at Uncle Tim’s in Redding in August! So Aunt Cherie, Aunt Jannie and Ashley, if we don’t see you – I hope you can make it to Redding!
