Floaties

I told her to stay away from the brownies.
Sun Chips are safer.

Between the relaxing afternoons by the pool and the breezy days on the lake, we had another great trip to Uncle Tim’s house in Redding. The 3 bedroom home and surrounding grounds were once again transformed into a bunkhouse and tent city.

Uncle Tim gamely participated in the hair coloring craze, and allowed Ashley to paint turquoise racing stripes.

When not in the water, my girls were mesmerized by the amazing technology that is the Wii. Can you tell we don’t have TV at home?

Aunt Ali obligingly painted Roma’s toes in the favored pink and green scheme…

...while Aunt Katie taught Quincy the finer points of leg/foot massage.

And they both, once again, had “that look”. I swear I was kidding about the brownies.
Once on the lake, my brother Timmy claimed and held the title of “only person to ride the Air Chair without crashing within 5 seconds”:

While his wife Keegan kept me company on shore as we plotted our hostile takeover of the boats and skis next year. We may be pregnant now, but we have first dibs in 2010.
When the closest you get to “watersports” is to float on a tube…

... you’re bound to get a bit restless.
Ali, Ashley and Bryce (a friend, not related) got greedy and went waterskiing early one morning after a late night of tippling. They weren’t much use the rest of the day.

Roma and Quincy love the water, whether chlorinated, salt or fresh, and I’m already looking forward to next summer when I can get in on the action and do more than just float.
Although Quincy’s probably thinking the same thing…

A whole lot more pictures are in this gallery.
