A Colorado Christmas

13 January 2010

This is for Aunt Lori Jonker, who admittedly doesn’t read all my posts, but “looks at pictures”.

First up, the gallery of our first morning at the Versluys house, wherein Nora got a bath from Oma, we ate cinnamon rolls and opened stockings, and plundered the tree.

Yummy breakfast!

Dutch letters for everyone!

Quincy the Christmas elf.

Probably the best gift (If I do say so myself) was a book that Eric and I gave Marty with photos of Annette from birth through high school – a “welcome to the family” gift for Nettie’s man.

There is another gallery filled with photos of the girls having the usual grand time at Oma and Grandpa’s house with Nettie, in the snow, and climbing up and down the stairs.

Then there was that magic moment at the Jonkers’ where Nettie got a Snuggie.

On New Year’s Day, we celebrated Nora’s baptism and had a wonderful family party afterward.

The final hurrah for our Colorado visit was the gift delivery of the Royal Kitchen and a trunk of princess dresses, a gift from Uncle Rob (Q’s godfather), by Rob’s mother Margaret who lives near the Vs in Louisville.

We left that evening on the road trip to end all road trips, satisfied with our end to 2009 and likely 5 pounds heavier than when we arrived (I never checked).
